One of Winnipeg’s newest bakeries is now open!
Baking has always been a love of Cassidy’s. Growing up she spent time in various kitchens baking with and learning from her mother and aunts. It wasn’t until later that she realized her passion for baking could also become her career. After graduating high school, Cassidy entered the Asper School of Business with the intention to Major in Marketing. She found herself constantly baking as a stress relief from school and quickly realized this was her true calling. At this time Cassidy’s dream of opening her own bakery had been all she could t hink about. Cassidy spent the next year working in the industry to learn all that she could. Even with doing so she felt the urge to attend school to help her hone her skills.
Ever since Cassidy first visited New York City it felt like her second home. When she originally started looking into culinary and pastry schools she knew she wanted to learn from the best. When she found out the top culinary school, The Institute of Culinary Education, was located in the heart of Manhattan itself, attending there became her goal.
Shortly after Christmas 2017 Cassidy received news that she had been accepted in to the Institute of Culinary Educations Cake Design Program beginning in August. She was thrilled to not only live out her dream of moving to New York City, but also to attend her dream school. While in school Cassidy got to work side by side with incredible chefs such as Toba Garret, Kate Sullivan, and Elisa Streuss along with many others. Always wanting to continue to learn, since completing the program she has done several shorter programs at the French Pastry School in Chicago. She is excited to share all that she has learned with clients in her home town of Winnipeg.
